I am offering up an RCDM (RC Don Manufacturing) custom made 3D printed roll cage / roof rack for the Axial SCX-10 III 2020 Jeep JT Gladiator rock crawler body (AXI230026, AXI03006T1 & AXI03006T2). This roof rack does a great job of protecting the top and windshield areas of the Axial JT (Gladiator) body from being scratched upon roll over. It also provides a great mounting location for an LED light bar (LIGHT BAR NOT INCLUDED) which is protected by a thick plastic "visor" with the RCDM logo on it. This roll cage was custom made for the Axial 2020 Jeep JT Gladiator body that is part of the new SCX10 III ready-to-run crawler (AXI03600). This "full" rack system bolts up directly to the vacuum formed Lexan body and is held in place with ten M2.6 screws and blind nuts that are included in this kit (drilling required). This roll cage will accommodate most 6" light bars (up to 162mm wide) and is shown in the pictures with the Axial Universal Light Bar Set (cat #AX31152). This kit includes a pair of plastic spacers to hold the 160mm Axial universal light bar (LIGHT BAR NOT INCLUDED) however you may use any light bar that fits into the 162mm wide opening.This new JT rack replaces the short bed rack that comes with the stock crawler and provides a rigid truss-like support that improves the body's durability especially on roll-over. There is also an optional spare tire rack (Part # RCDM072) that will bolt right up to this rack for a custom look not available anywhere else.Note: Custom hardware and spacers may be needed when using a light bar other than the 6" Axial universal light bar kit which is not included with this rack. The installer may need to fabricate these spacers or use L-brackets and screws to attach the light bar to the visor.Get your RCDM scale JT roll cage/roof rack to protect your RC investment and improve scale appearance !!!Be sure to check out the new JT Gladiator spare tire rack (sold as part #RCDM0072) that is used with this roof rack!!!Each roll cage takes us 20 hours to print and is assembled and inspected by hand! Over $18 in hardware is included with each kit!!!Note: This rack is shown on a genuine Axial JT Gladiator body for reference only. The body, chassis, spare tire rack and light bar are NOT included in this listing.This rack is custom made for the Axial 2020 Jeep Gladiator body and is NOT guaranteed to fit any other body make or style. This rack DOES NOT fit the Pro-Line 3535-00 Gladiator Body.Note: This kit requires drilling six 7/64" holes in the Wrangler body which can be done easily using the roll cage as a layout tool. First remove the existing bed rack from the body using a 2mm Allen wrench (do not use a "ball" type Allen wrench as these screws can be very tight and need extra grip in the socket). There are four screws under the bed and two just to the rear of the cab which require you to remove the front two "interior" panel screws that hold the wiper assembly under the windshield. You can swing down the interior panel far enough to access these screws but leave the interior panel loose for the next steps of the installation. Next you can install the bed rails onto the body using four M2.6 x 10mm screws and the custom double blind nuts (one each side). Make sure you orient the bed rails so that the two thickened rear corners rest over the tailgate pillars which should match the bed opening profile (only one way looks right). Align the bed rails and bed liner before tightening the whole assembly to ensure the bed rack will not be askew.Now you can assemble the roll cage sides and light bar visor with the included M2.6 x 8mm (X32) and M2.6 x 6mm (X13) screws.Note: There are four lengths of M2.6 screws provided with this kit so be careful to pay attention to where the screws are temporarily threaded into the cage so they can be re-installed correctly. Be sure to look carefully at the photos in this listing to properly orient the side support pieces during assembly.Next, place the assembled roll cage over the bed rails and attach it to the rails with six M2.6 x 10mm screws which should position the rack perfectly in place for drilling the holes for the six remaining support fasteners. After you have verified that the rack is in the proper position (centered over the body) you can carefully drill right through the mounting holes of the rack into the Lexan body with a 7/64" drill bit. Start with the top four holes (after you have verified alignment) and then install the four M2.6 x 10mm screws into the plastic blind nuts to secure the roll cage for the next set of holes. Now you can drill the two forward support bars into the body (making sure they stay how you want them) and install the two front M2.6 x 12mm screws and blind nuts. Replace the interior assembly screws to finish up the install and you are ready to hit the trail with a custom look that fits the JT perfectly !!!This auction is for 1 black 3D printed ABS plastic roll cage assembly (ten bolt together pieces - see picture), 32 - M2.6 x 8mm hex socket button head screws, 13 - M2.6 x 6mm button head screws, 14 - M2.6 x 10mm button head screws, 2 - M2.6 x 12mm button head screws, , 8 - plastic blind nuts (two of them are double "bar" nuts) and two optional plastic light bar spacers (RC rock crawler vehicle, Lexan body, spare tire rack and LED light bar in pictures is not included). This rack weighs 170 grams with hardware.This kit will require a 1.5mm Allen wrench to assemble as well as a 7/64" drill bit to install the rack on the polycarbonate body shell (not included). Repalcement Side Support Braces are available as spares should you need them out on the trail. All of my 3D printed parts are made right here in the USA on American Made FDM type printer machines.
