Low brow black molded hair, glazed shoulder head, Parian hands and lower legs. Legs have deeply ribbed stockings, shoes have short heels. This wonderful doll stands 12" tall, and represents the Victorian era wherein Queen Victoria began the tradition of vacationing in Scotland. As a result, Tartan plaids became fashionable in England. Retired from a museum collection, the doll is a choice example for any collector. Low brow black molded hair, glazed shoulder head, Parian hands and lower legs. Legs have deeply ribbed stockings, shoes have short heels. This wonderful doll stands 12" tall, good shelf display size. She represents the Victorian era, wherein Queen Victoria began the tradition of vacationing in Scotland. As a result, Tartan plaids became fashionable in England. Retired from a museum collection, the doll is a choice example for any collector. Clothing is sewn onto doll, so unable to see marks, if any. Attributed to Germany, pre 1900. Condition is very good. One tiny chip on back of head and minor rubs to hair. Hands and feet are perfect. Clothing is excellent, no nips or stains. See photos for detail.
